2025-03-26 01:00-23:59 Participation of Construction Industry Companies in the Trade Mission and Exhibition “Sydney Build 2025” in Australia
The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) invites innovative companies from the woodworking and construction sectors to apply for a trade mission to be held in Sydney, Australia, as part of the "Sydney Build 2025" exhibition from May 6 to May 8, 2025.
Sydney Build is the largest construction and design conference in Australia, attracting over 25,000 developers, civil engineers, architects, and builders from the country’s leading companies last year. More information about the exhibition: www.sydneybuildexpo.com.
The construction industry in Australia accounts for 10% of the country’s GDP and is the fifth-largest sector in the Australian economy.
Purpose of the Trade Mission
The trade mission aims to visit the "Sydney Build" conference to establish new contacts, meet with industry-relevant companies, and explore construction trends and collaboration potential in Australia.
A maximum of five companies will be approved for participation.
Proficiency in English is required for participation in the mission and related events.
Preliminary Program
- May 6 – Individual meetings with construction companies in Sydney.
- May 7-8 – Visit to the exhibition.
- LIAA’s Australia office will have a 16 m² booth, where participants can display information and hold meetings.
- Participation in the "Sydney Build" conference with various thematic sessions.
- Earliest return date – May 9.
Information for Participants
Participants must account for LIAA’s organizational fee of 20 hours, which is structured as follows:
- If the company qualifies for de minimis aid, the fee is covered within the de minimis support framework.
- If the company does not qualify for de minimis aid, LIAA will issue an invoice. The fee is €29.88 per person-hour + VAT.
- Individual costs:
- Transportation expenses.
- Accommodation costs (hotel expenses).
The trade mission is organized by LIAA, and companies can participate either by paying the full cost or receiving financial support. To receive support, companies must meet the eligibility criteria, which can be checked using the Self-Assessment Calculator. If eligible, up to 60% of eligible costs can be reimbursed.
After the event, businesses meeting the quality criteria for support can submit a payment request via the Business.gov.lv e-service. Before applying, participants should familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions under the "Trade Missions Abroad" section.
The trade mission is organized as part of the European Regional Development Fund and the Latvian state budget co-financed SME Innovative Business Development Program.

Applications for the trade mission are open on the Business.gov.lv platform until March 26, 23:59 (Latvian time).
