The Latvian Construction Contractors Association, together with its partners, has developed guidelines titled "Construction Waste Sorting at the Construction Site." These guidelines were created as part of the LIFE Waste To Resources project and apply to commercial properties and public construction projects.
The purpose of developing these guidelines is to:
- Support the implementation of a closed or repeated circulation cycle for construction materials and waste.
- Achieve clarity and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of process participants.
- Inform stakeholders about the relevant legal regulations.
- Provide a classification and mutual translation of waste and construction industry nomenclatures.
- Reduce the amount of construction waste sent to landfills and increase the reuse of materials and secondary raw materials.
The guidelines are available here.
