The State Labour Inspectorate launches inspections at construction sites.
Published Wednesday, 12 February 2025The State Labour Inspectorate (hereinafter – the Labour Inspectorate) informs that we have launched the annual thematic inspection of construction industry companies, which will continue until the end of 2025. The aim of the thematic inspection is to proactively focus on hazardous work, such as working at heights, including work on roofs, scaffolding, and ladders, as well as work in trenches and excavations, among others.
We encourage construction companies to act as the strictest "inspectors" of their own construction sites, critically assessing workplace safety and addressing issues before inspectors arrive.
On the website www.stradavesels.lv, under the "Materials" section, it is possible to select specific informational materials relevant to the construction industry. Additionally, a self-assessment form regarding occupational safety regulations in construction is available on the Labour Inspectorate’s website: https://www.vdi.gov.lv/lv/buvniecibai. Furthermore, an electronic training material for construction industry workers has been uploaded to the State Administration School’s learning system: https://mps.vas.gov.lv/edu/scorm/material/573.
