2025-06-18 01:00-23:59 Call for Applications: “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2025”
The Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of Climate and Energy, and the Latvian Association of Civil Engineers announce the annual competition “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2025”.
“The ‘Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia’ competition has been running for 15 years, proving that it is a stable and highly anticipated event in the industry. It is an opportunity to highlight builders, architects, and other construction professionals who ensure responsible, sustainable, rational, and economically sound construction, serving as an example for others. The competition also gives a boost to the local economy by creating demand for modern materials, such as high-quality industrially produced timber frame panels,” emphasized Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis.
Minister for Climate and Energy Kaspars Melnis added: “There is still much to be done in the field of building energy efficiency. I hope that new support instruments for using industrially produced panels in building renovation or the district renovation approach will give additional impetus to the renovation of outdated buildings. This competition will highlight the best renovation examples in Latvia and encourage new participants to join the building renewal program. This will help reduce excessive energy losses and resource costs.”
Helēna Endriksone, First Vice-Chair of the Board of the Latvian Association of Civil Engineers: “The main goal of the ‘Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia’ competition is to promote best practices in energy efficiency. Through this initiative, we express our gratitude to those who confidently invest in energy-efficient buildings and serve as an inspiring example to others.”
The competition “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia” is organized within the framework of the “Live Warmer” campaign. Its aim is to promote best practices in building energy efficiency and sustainability by implementing energy-efficient construction, renovation, and reconstruction. This helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increases public understanding of well-being, building thermal resistance, indoor climate, and the significance and opportunities of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to create a high-quality and architecturally expressive living environment.
