The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) invites innovative companies in the construction sector to apply for participation in Latvia’s national stand at the international trade fair BAU 2027, which will take place from 11 to 15 January 2027 in Munich, Germany.

BAU is Germany’s largest trade fair for construction and building materials manufacturers and has been held every two years since 1964. It is considered not only the largest trade fair of its kind in Germany but also one of the largest construction industry exhibitions in Europe. In 2025, the exhibition brought together 2,230 construction companies from more than 58 countries and attracted 180,000 visitors.

National Stand

The planned area of Latvia’s national stand is 80 m² in Hall B5, which is dedicated to timber construction exhibits. Companies wishing to participate in Latvia’s national stand will be selected based on the information provided in their application forms. No more than 10 companies with the highest scores according to the selection criteria will be approved for participation.

Information for Participants

If an applicant qualifies for support, the cost of participation in the stand will be covered from the company’s available de minimis aid allocation. Companies are responsible for covering their own travel expenses, transportation of exhibits and any other additional costs that may arise.

The national stand is organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) within the framework of the European Union co-financed Innovative Business Development Programme for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, with support from the European Regional Development Fund and national funding. Companies may participate either at their own expense or by receiving financial support. To receive support, a company must meet the applicable eligibility criteria. Companies can check their eligibility for support using the Self-Assessment Calculator.

Participants in the national stand, either individually or in cooperation with other participants, will be responsible for organising and covering the costs of transporting their exhibits to and from the exhibition. Participants must also organise and pay for any services provided by the exhibition organiser that are required for unloading and loading exhibits from and onto carriers’ vehicles, transporting exhibits to and from the stand, temporary storage of exhibit packaging, and other related services.

LIAA will develop the stand concept and determine the placement of participating companies within the stand.

Proficiency in English is a mandatory requirement for exhibition participants.

Participants should also budget for the travel expenses of their representatives, including transportation, accommodation and daily allowances, as well as hotel booking costs and any other related expenses.

More information is available about the support programme for participation in national stands at international exhibitions abroad.

Applications for participation in the national stand can be submitted via the liaa.business.gov.lv platform until 30 August at 23:59.
