Starting April 16, ALTUM will begin accepting applications for the new Energy Grant program, aimed at preparing technical documentation for energy efficiency projects in multi-apartment buildings. This is a major development that will allow apartment owners to save up to 90% on the costs of energy audits and project documentation. Apartment owners will only need to cover 10% of the costs themselves.

The total budget for the Energy Grant program is €4.25 million, funded through resources from the European Investment Bank as part of the InvestEU Advisory Hub project. The program will help prepare around 200 apartment buildings across Latvia for renovation.

Support is available only for buildings that apply for participation in ALTUM’s multi-apartment building energy efficiency program, and it covers costs related to the preparation of technical documentation – including energy audits, construction projects, cost estimates, and more.

Reinis Bērziņš, Chairman of the Management Board at ALTUM:

“For a medium-sized five-story building with around 30 apartments, preparing technical documentation to start renovations can cost up to €20,000. Many building owners don’t have such savings, and this can become a barrier to renovation. The Energy Grant program removes this obstacle – it makes starting renovations significantly easier, more convenient, and more accessible. Our goal is to provide apartment owners with practical tools that help turn ideas into real projects instead of leaving them at the planning stage.”

Important! After the documentation is developed with grant support, the project must be implemented within ALTUM’s multi-apartment building energy efficiency program, which also offers support in the form of capital discounts of up to 50% of renovation costs.
