Please be informed that after 9 December 2026, certain eID cards* will no longer support the electronic signing of documents, including documents in the Construction Information System (BIS). This change concerns certain eID cards whose chips will no longer comply with eIDAS requirements after the specified date.
Important! You will still be able to use your eID card to log in to and authenticate yourself in BIS. The changes will apply only to the electronic signing of documents using the certificate stored on the eID card. Users whose eID cards are affected by these changes are advised to arrange an alternative electronic signing solution in good time.
What should you do?
- Check at eidkarte.lv whether your eID card will be affected by the changes.
- If the check confirms that your eID card is affected, we recommend that you:
- activate eParaksts mobile;
- or obtain a new eID card.
eParaksts mobile will not be affected by these changes and may continue to be used for electronically signing documents in BIS. An alternative signing solution will help ensure that you can continue signing documents electronically in BIS without interruption after 9 December 2026.
