The jury of the competition “Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia 2026” is accepting applications for one more month — until June 18 this year — for the competition “Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia”.

Applications may be submitted by renovated and newly built apartment buildings, public buildings, private houses, and industrial buildings.

The competition has been held for 16 years, and its aim is to promote best practices in building energy performance and sustainability by implementing energy-efficient construction, renovation, and reconstruction projects. This helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promotes public awareness about well-being, building thermal performance, and indoor microclimate in order to create a healthy, high-quality, and architecturally expressive living environment.

Applications can be submitted in five categories:

  • Most Energy Efficient Renovated Apartment Building;
  • Most Energy Efficient New Apartment Building;
  • Most Energy Efficient Public Building;
  • Most Energy Efficient Private House;
  • Most Energy Efficient Industrial Building.

The regulations for the competition “Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia 2026” are published on the competition website: www.energoefektivakaeka.lv.

Applications for the competition “Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia 2026” should be submitted by June 18, 2026, by sending them electronically to: dzivosiltak@em.gov.lv.
