Published Friday, 13 June 2025Currently, there are 9 competence centers operating in Latvia, providing support to Latvian entrepreneurs for the development of new products, technologies, and services in various smart specialization (RIS3) areas, promoting knowledge transfer and innovation development. Competence centers serve as collaboration platforms where companies and research institutions can implement significant research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects.
Competence centers regularly announce various innovation competitions in which entrepreneurs can receive co-financing for industrial research, experimental development, and technical-economic feasibility studies, thereby encouraging companies’ involvement in R&D&I activities. Project competitions support projects from TRL 4 to TRL 8 levels, ranging from concept validation to ready prototypes or market-ready solutions. The activities of competence centers are co-financed by European Union funds, including the Recovery Fund.
We invite entrepreneurs to familiarize themselves with the current #RecoveryFund project competition calls.
