Published Monday, 19 May 2025

The jury of the contest “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2025” will continue accepting applications for another month – until June 18, 2025. Applications can be submitted for renovated and newly built multi-apartment buildings, public buildings, single-family homes, and industrial buildings.

For the 15th year in a row, as part of the “Live Warmer” campaign, the contest “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia” is being held to promote best practices in building energy efficiency and sustainability through the construction, renovation, and reconstruction of energy-efficient buildings. The aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and raise public awareness about well-being, thermal performance of buildings, indoor climate, and the importance and possibilities of reducing greenhouse gas emissions – all to create a high-quality and architecturally expressive living environment.

We invite applications in the following five categories:

  • Most Energy-Efficient Renovated Multi-Apartment Building

  • Most Energy-Efficient New Multi-Apartment Building

  • Most Energy-Efficient Public Building

  • Most Energy-Efficient Single-Family Home

  • Most Energy-Efficient Industrial Building

The contest regulations for the “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2025” are published on the contest website: www.energoefektivakaeka.lv.
Applications should be submitted by June 18, 2025, by sending them electronically to the email address: dzivosiltak@em.gov.lv.

It is planned that by mid-August this year, the contest jury will decide which buildings will proceed to the second round – on-site inspections. The awards ceremony for this year’s contest winners is scheduled for September.
