The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (hereinafter referred to as VARAM) is implementing the European Union's LIFE 2018–2020 Integrated Project "Waste as Resources in Latvia – Promoting Regional Sustainability and Circularity by Implementing the Concept of Waste as Resources" (hereinafter referred to as the project) from November 1, 2021, to December 31, 2028, together with 22 cooperation partners. The project's goal is to reduce waste generation, the volume of waste to be disposed of, and ensure more efficient waste management.
We inform you that within the framework of the project's informational campaign "Let the Old Asbestos Roof Go!" VARAM is launching the second phase of the support program for the disposal of asbestos-containing slate stocks from June 3. The support is intended not only for low-income and needy households but also for holders of the Latvian Honorary Family Certificate "Honorary Family." Households can dispose of 0.2 to 3 tons of asbestos-containing slate free of charge. The application deadline for receiving support is June 28 of this year. Additional information about the support program's conditions is available on the project's website: https://wastetoresources.varam.gov.lv/azbests.
Additional information about the project and its results can be found on the website https://wastetoresources.varam.gov.lv/ and on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
