At the exhibition “Māja I 2026”, which will take place this year from 26 to 29 March in Riga at the International Exhibition Centre Ķīpsala, experts from the Ministry of Economics (MoE) and partner organisations will provide consultations at the “Live Warmer” (“Dzīvo siltāk!”) stand on building renovation, energy efficiency, and the financing available for these purposes.
Partners of the Ministry of Economics and the “Live Warmer” information campaign will inform building managers, apartment owners, and private house owners in the Energy Efficiency Quarter of the exhibition about high-quality building renovation, available co-financing, various energy-efficiency solutions, and building maintenance after renovation, as well as share experience and benefits gained from project implementation.
At the “Live Warmer” stand, visitors will be able to learn about the available support for improving the energy efficiency of multi-apartment buildings and businesses, including funding from European Union funds, the Modernisation Fund, the Emissions Trading System auctioning instrument, state support, and support from the Riga City Municipality, as well as mortgage loans in the regions and other energy-efficiency measures.
Consultations will cover a wide range of topics:
• Regulatory framework: housing and construction policy, decision-making by apartment owners’ associations, and the new unified building registration process.
• Energy efficiency and support: support programmes for improving the energy efficiency of businesses and multi-apartment buildings, the use of renewable energy sources, financing for private houses and energy communities, and the “ABC of Building Renovation.”
• Financing for individuals: regional mortgage loans, housing guarantees, and the “Balsts” subsidy.
• Building maintenance and safety: property management, management of building renovation projects, opportunities offered by the Construction Information System (BIS) and the “Māju lietas” platform, as well as electrical safety and fire safety. Experts will also provide information on the inspection of internal gas pipelines and the relocation of gas pipeline inlets within multi-apartment building insulation projects.
During all four days in the Energy Efficiency Quarter (stands of “Live Warmer” and the Riga Energy Agency), visitors will be able to meet experts from the Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of Climate and Energy, the Latvian Environmental Investment Fund, the State Land Service, AS “Sadales tīkls”, the Development Finance Institution Altum, AS “Gaso”, the Riga City Municipality, the Construction State Control Bureau, AS “Rīgas siltums”, and SIA “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks.”
Consultations at the stand will also be provided by representatives of construction sector NGOs, including the Latvian Association of Civil Engineers, the Latvian Association of Property Managers and Administrators, the Latvian Window and Door Manufacturers Association, the Latvian Building Materials Manufacturers Association, the Latvian Association of Power Engineers and Energy Builders, and the Latvian Builders Association.
On Thursday and Friday (26 and 27 March), experts from the State Fire and Rescue Service, SIA “Latvian Standard”, and the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (CRPC) will also be present at the stand.
On 27 March, the Latvian Association of Property Managers and Administrators and the Ministry of Economics invite property managers and apartment owners to attend the seminar “Current Issues in Multi-Apartment Building Management.” The seminar will discuss current developments in property management and European initiatives to promote affordable housing, highlighting policy directions and possible solutions for Latvia. Practical topics will also be covered, including water meter verification requirements, management of hazardous equipment, and the development of safe building energy systems in the context of future challenges.
Experts from the Ministry of Economics, the Consumer Rights Protection Centre, Sadales tīkls, the Finance Latvia Association, and the European Economic and Social Committee will participate in the seminar.
