Published Friday, 12 January 2024On January 22nd this year, the Ministry of Economics and the Elektrum Energy Efficiency Center invite participation in the webinar "Ensuring Sustainable and Productive Environments in Schools."
A healthy indoor environment in educational institutions is significantly influenced by the level of carbon dioxide or CO2. The World Health Organization recommends that CO2 levels in educational spaces should be up to 1000 ppm for excellent or good indoor air quality. The optimal norm for ventilation intensity in educational spaces is 7 l/s, with a minimum of 3 l/s per person. Current data on the microclimate, including CO2 levels in educational spaces, can be monitored online at https://co2.mesh.lv/home/dashboardvar.
Therefore, the purpose of the webinar is to remind about the conditions for a healthy indoor environment in schools, focusing on microclimate, acoustics, lighting, and ventilation solutions. Representatives of educational institutions and municipalities, as well as all interested parties, are invited to participate.
Experts from the Health Inspection, Riga Stradiņš University, Riga Technical University, the Municipality of Liepāja, the Latvian Association of Electricians and Energy Builders, and others will discuss solutions for improving the microclimate in educational spaces and share experiences in ensuring a healthy indoor environment in educational institutions.
The webinar's agenda and registration form are published on the website of the Ministry of Economics. Participants are encouraged to register, and materials from previous events can be explored here.
The webinar is organized as part of the informational campaign "Live Warmer" and the contest "Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia."
