On Wednesday, 1 July 2026, the State Construction Control Bureau (SCCB) will host the presentation event of the Building Information System (BIS) Artificial Intelligence Assistant, entitled "BIS Artificial Intelligence Assistant: From Pilot Project to an Everyday Assistant". The event will mark the first comprehensive presentation of the assistant and the results of its pilot project.
The BIS Artificial Intelligence Assistant has been developed to help users navigate the functionalities of the Building Information System (BIS) and the regulatory framework governing the construction sector by providing fast, structured answers to the most frequently asked questions.
During the pilot project, from 10 April to 29 June 2026, the BIS Artificial Intelligence Assistant answered 16,927 user questions and participated in 7,505 unique conversations. The majority of all questions (73.3%) were related to the use of the BIS, demonstrating the assistant's significant role in supporting users in their day-to-day work.
The event will present the pilot project results, the most frequently asked user questions, user experience gained during the pilot phase, and the future development plans for the BIS Artificial Intelligence Assistant. Participants will also have the opportunity to see the assistant in action and learn how it complements the existing BIS user support services.
Speakers at the event will include Viktors Valainis, Minister for Economics; Baiba Vītoliņa, Director of the State Construction Control Bureau; Uldis Jansons, Director of the Information Systems Department at the SCCB; and representatives of Tieto Latvia.
The event will take place on 1 July 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Workland, located in Galerija Rīga Shopping Centre (67 Dzirnavu Street, 5th floor, Riga). The venue can be reached by taking the escalator to the fifth-floor pedestrian bridge.
